Hauraki

Matamata Piako
The Matamata Piako district encompasses the southern end of the Hauraki Plains and is bounded by the Kaimai Range. The Piako and Waihou rivers run through the area which is known for Dairy Farming and Horse Thoroughbred breeding and training. Major towns in the area are Matamata, Te Aroha and Morrinsville.
